NUNA AND THE FOG (2018)
In 2018 I wrote, illustrated and printed Nuna and the Fog, a children's book (for people of all ages) that tackles the subject of clinical depression by informing readers about its symptomology, and teaching practical concepts on how to cope with it. The book is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a clinical intervention that seeks to increase psychological flexibility by promoting techniques like mindfulness, acceptance, defusion of negative thoughts, commitment to value-driven actions, having as sense of self, as well as other traditional techniques helpful for living a happier life. The book was printed thanks to a crowdfund and distributed for free among 200 non-profits, clinics, and mental health agencies in the Atlanta area. |
